If you want to become a practising pharmacist or pharmacy technicians you are required to undertake a period of pre-registration training.

Hospital or Community?
Hospital Pharmacy is more likely to appeal to you if:

  • You relish the variation of rotating through different pharmacy specialities
  • You are attracted by hospital pharmacy career structures
  • You want to be involved with direct patient care

Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacists

Making the choice of where to undertake your pre-registration training can be one of the most difficult and stressful decisions which pharmacy undergraduates have to make.  Employers are offering you the earth in terms of training, pay, perks but still you can't decide.

KSS Deanery Pharmacy offers all trainees a one year fixed term contract to meet the requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Council to register as a pharmacist by undertaking:

  • a rotational competency based training programme to achieve underpinning knowledge and the specified performance standards
  • the registration examination

All placements are quality assured to ensure every trainee receives a high standard of training supported by Educational and Practice supervision.

Information on the recruitment process is available on our Pre-registration trainee pharmacist page and if you are still undecided, watch our short video on the Undergraduate page on what you can expect from a placement within the South East.
